Emirates Foodstuff & Mineral Water Company (AGHTIA) PJSC announced in October 2007 that it had signed a MOU to acquire Ice Crystal, a leading 5-gallon local water brand based in Abu Dhabi.

The deal saw Al Ain Mineral Water Company takeover the management of all production and distribution of Ice Crystal water throughout Abu Dhabi (and eventually to the rest of the UAE) effective December 1st, 2007.
